Making Some Russian Cabbage Rolls (Голубцы) | Cooking with Alex and Lena
Thank you Kirill for letting us cook at your place and a big thank you, Lena, for showing me how to make some real true Russian Cabbage Rolls (Голубцы -Golubtsi) You can get the recipe below!
Ingredients:
1 Cabbage, 3 onions, 2 Carrots, 1-3 cloves of garlic, 2 Tomatoes, 4 tsp of tomato sauce, 1kg minced meat, salt, black pepper, dill, 2 Bay leaves and 1/2 cup of water.
First, put a whole cabbage in a microwave for 7 minutes, let it stand for 10 minutes, separate all the leaves, and cut off the top pieces.
Second step. Cut onions and three garlic cloves. Add herbs, salt, and black pepper and mix with Beef mince. Step 3. Assemble Golubtsy as shown in the video.
Step 4. Fry the garlic, onions, and tomatoes with the carrots and then add tomato paste or sauce. Add some water.
Step 5. Cover the Golubtsy with the sauce you just finished. Cover well with the top and put high heat for 15 minutes, lower the heat to low temperature, and cook for 30 minutes. Serve with sour cream.
