Joan Crawford was indeed a friend of Anne's. While going through Anne's papers following her death in 2002, I found a number of letters from Joan Crawford. Both Anne and Joan were single mothers and both worked for 20th Century Fox. I have no clue as to where to find the "erotic films" that Anne is speaking about.
