Echelon: Wind Warriors | Long-Range Escort (Extra Missions)

In the next few videos I'll cover the missions that for a reason or another didn't show up in my segmented speedrun.
HOW'S SUPPOSED TO BE DONE
This mission is infamous because there's basically no explanation of what the player's supposed to do: as a consequence you will fail the mission, the mission control will tell you to fuck off, and you'll be pissed off and try again, in an infinite cicle.
Here's a walkthrough.
Even though the game suggests you to select the fighter jet, choose the stealth fighter instead.
1) When you reach the "shadow zone", where the mission control says that "you're out of reach from the Velians' sensors" (or something like that), tell the transports to stop.
2) DO NOT ACTIVATE THE YFF BUTTON STRAIGHT AWAY. Wait for the enemy patrols to move away from your position, or else they will go after you and most likely fail the mission (after all, an enemy signal just became friendly, what could possibly be suspicious???).
3) When the enemy planes are far away, activate the YFF button. Tell the air transports to move.
4) Constantly check your radar/map for nearby enemy patrols, and tell the transport planes to stop or move accordingly.
5) If an enemy patrol sees you, shoot'em down, no matter what. There's a high chance that other patrols will come to rescue, so protect the transport planes.
Note that if your cover is blown at this point, the mission will not fail, but continue as normal.
6) Deactivate the YFF button ONLY WHEN MISSION CONTROL TELLS YOU TO DO SO. If you do it before, the mission will fail.
7) After all this mess, just get back to base. Don't try to attack the enemy tanks. Do not try anything funny. After all, you don't wanna do all again, right?
WHY CHOOSE THE STEALTH FIGHTER
Despite not being properly equipped to fight and its weak armor, the only way to complete the mission is to select the "Ghost".
If you select a normal fighter, when reaching the "shadow zone", no matter how far are the enemy patrols, they will always detect you when pressing the YFF button. Trust me, I tried this a million times.
The only way to consistently progress this mission is to use the stealth fighter.
