Atmospheric, Moody or just plain boring??! Hiking the Wainwrights on Knott Rigg and Ard Crags...
The original plan was to Wild Camp in tent on the summit of Rannerdale Knotts - unfortunately having arrived late , Buttermere was packed, not a parking spot to be had anywhere.
Thinking on my feet, we headed back up to the head of the Newland's Pass to to recompose and come up with a new plan, tick off 3 Wainwright's with a night of luxury in the VW Campervan...Perfect!
What I hadn't envisaged was how distinctly unimpressive both Fells would turn out to be...
