Startup Topics: Non-Tech Founders

In the many hats theory of being a non-technical startup founder, it is critical that you put in the work to figure out the business logic of your product before attempting to secure resources to magically turn your idea into an app.

It’s less about the technology and more about connecting the dots for how you plan to manipulate, filter, analyze, and present an outcome based on whatever inputs are available. In the situations where I have coached founders in the Fintech and Protech space, we had to have long discussions about how their product needed to do more than just repackage the data in what they perceived to be a unique format.

Are there startups to do that that have made millions and raised venture capital, yes. Is that the basis for the next big startup, I don’t know. But, if you haven’t done the customer discovery to validate your idea, then you’re just throwing money into a fire pit.
