He never imagined his character this way
⚔️ Check out Brontes in Hero Forge:
https://www.heroforge.com/load_config%3D532975883/
✒️ Description by anonymous redditor:
His name is "Brontes" and he is a Giant Instinct Barbarian (PF2E). His people living the the mountains at the world's edge and have a violent, "might makes right" culture. When he was younger, it was discovered that he is a "Kindred" - meaning he was born with one of his people's ancestors (a Giant) linked to him and in his head. So he was forced to train for this position from a young age.
The big issue is that Brontes doesn't subscribe to the same culture or traditions and felt cracks in his belief torward it for a long time. The Giant ancestor in his head has also always been cruel to him, being a second voice that berates him I'm his head for being weak. As such, he struggled to progress in his training, which was supposed to help he and his Giant work together.
Instead, he ended up falling in love with one of the tribe's healers after being sent to bedrest during violent duels as part of his training. This was forbidden for "Kindred" because you subject an ancestor to your own intimacy, but they kept they relationship secret for many years. That healer also taught Brontes medicine, something he was much more passionate about than fighting.
When they are eventually found out, they're ordered to duel to the death. It's essentially a death sentence for the untrained healer. Rather than killing his partner, Brontes instead runs away to the other side of the world. An action of immense shame that the ancestor in his head hates him all the more for.
He lives with a nomadic caravan for some time, before ultimately revealing certain magical abilities to the wrong person and being captured by the new continents' anti-magic government and sent to a labor camp to toil away are part of their war machine. That's where our campaign is starting.
TLDR; Barbarian with ancestor spirit stuck with him, but he defies his culture and tradition and is going to use his strength for noble reasons rather than the reasons he was raised to
That reminds me of one last detail. He uses a massive "meteor hammer" as a cultural weapon, but it was stolen from him when he was captured. Since the campaign will be starting with breaking out of the mines, he's starting with a makeshift one that is some silver ore connected by a chain. One day he'll probably get the real one back. I understand the limitations of hero forge, so whichever you think could work is fine
He's about 9 or 10 ft tall due to the giant instinct
Yes that's correct, thats actually one of the reference images I have in mind for his real ancestral weapon. We decided to do a regular meteor hammer versus a double sided one like pictured up. So just one chain with the blunt object on the end. One important detail with his giant instinct is that the weapon is one size bigger than him. Most creatures are medium, but he is large, so he meteor hammer is a "huge" sized weapon. A true wrecking ball
Regarding the armor, he's mechanically going to be wearing Breastplate, but his art doesn't necessarily have to match that. Something "medium weight" would probably work
Regarding the cultural colors, id saying something to do with their black fur. However, hes also pretty far removed from his culture and probably wouldn't be representing it in any way.
Probably black and white
The cultural meteor hammer itself, I haven't come up with a design for quite yet. Something like the above with ridges perhaps, but you can have free reign over making it look cool and inspiring what my artist friend might draw one day later of he gets it back
A good example btw, since I see you've played silksong, is The Last Judge uses a meteor hammer but themed as a bell
Its part of the inspiration, but probably wouldn't be a bell lol
