When I was little, my brother and I used to fish together all the time. We were too poor to own fishing rods so instead, we'd go to the dock and hope to find fishing string with hook on it. Usually we'd find them if we searched hard enough but this one time we found only a hook and no string attached. We wanted to fish so bad so we went back home to see if we could find anything there. After searching the garage and finding nothing again, my brother had an idea. He took the shoe laces off my dads tennis shoes and somehow tied the hook onto the lace. It was a pretty dumb idea but we went back to the dock with a piece of bread. We put it on the hook and tested our luck again. I for sure thought we weren't going to catch anything but within 10 seconds, a huge bass came by and took our whole rig. The shoe laces, hook and bread were gone. My brother and I jumped for joy because we saw a fish so big and that made it all worth it. We walked back home and found my dad and my uncle in the garage looking like they were about to go play tennis. My dad stood there with one shoe on and his other shoe in his hand. "Where is my shoe lace?" he asked. Before I could answer, my brother pointed at me and said, "Khoa threw it in the lake." Without further adieu, my dad slapped me so hard, the bass grew legs, walked to my house and delivered the shoe lace back. My dad laced his shoe and went on to play tennis. I cried. The bass cried with me. My bro laughed. I didn't trust him anymore after that one.
