The new Toyota Hilux is bolder looking and more powerful than before. It has a redesigned front end that's more angular and striking than that of the previous Hilux, and the ninth-generation model can be had with a 2.8-litre diesel engine, making it capable of completing the 0-62mph sprint in 10.0sec.
A new grille and front bumper, plus the option of LED front and rear lights and 18in alloy wheels, make the Hilux look far more stylish than its rather utilitarian predecessor.
Toyota also says it has tweaked the pick-up's suspension to improve on-road comfort without hampering its well-known off-road ability; it was a Hilux that won the arduous Dakar Rally in 2019.
