Mass Effect 3's ending could have been completely different

thegamer.com broke their interview with Chris Hepler into multiple articles; this one involves a more hard science fiction take on the ending of Mass Effect 3. It's based on an inspiration from a 2000 book by Nancy Kress called Probability Moon, where as superweapon targets heavy high atomic numbered metals throughout the galaxy, nstead of space magic (up to Niobium --atomic number 41. Everything atom above that? BOOM.)
