Holter Lake is home to one of central Montana's best Kokanee fisheries. During the 1970's and 80's it produced massive fish up to 6 lbs before it collapsed. The reservoir itself has been subject to several spiny ray invasions from illegally stocked Yellow Perch and Walleye. Recently Kokanee have started to bounce back and one interesting hypothesis I heard as to why has to do with one of those illegal introductions.
