(2019) Take the train to Lake Tahoe (Amtrak)

In April 2019, I visited Lake Tahoe by Amtrak. First, I took the California Zephyr #6 train from Emeryville to Truckee in a sleeper (I chose the sleeper car because I had to do a lot of work). Interestingly, the train stopped twice at Truckee station because the station platform was too short and couldn't reach both the sleeper and coach cars, and I was the only passenger to de-train at Truckee. Then I took a bus to the shoreline of Lake Tahoe, and took a Lyft ride to the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel in South Lake Tahoe near the California/Nevada state line.

The second day, I took an alternative route back. This time, I took an Amtrak Thruway bus from South Lake Tahoe to Sacramento, and transferred on a Capitol Corridor train back to the Bay Area. It was a short 2-day trip but I enjoyed a lot!
