Gareth Samuel: Malfunctioning Electric Stars | Thunderbolts

Pulsars are mysterious objects that emit electromagnetic radiation in a clockwork-like fashion. The period of this pulsing can be extremely short such as every 1.33 seconds or a staggering 1.4 milliseconds.

The pulsar may simply be no different than a normal star behaving like a malfunctioning electric star. In its past a star might have suffered a catastrophic short circuit. So violent was the discharge that the entire surface of its double layer exploded. But electrical power input continues to drive the star's magnetospheric circuit—resulting in characteristic pulsar emissions.

Gareth Samuel, EU advocate and creator of "See the Pattern”, explains how the source of radiation energy is not found within the pulsar—and might be from the pulsar's interaction with its environment or energy delivered by an external circuit.
