How to Get PR in Ireland: Stamp 2 → 1G → Critical Skills → Stamp 4

Want Irish PR (Stamp 4) as an Indian student? Here’s the step-by-step path so you can plan from day one:

Step 1 — Stamp 2 (Student Visa)
Study in Ireland; work part-time in term and full-time in holidays. (Does not count toward PR.)

Step 2 — Stamp 1G (Graduate Visa)
After graduation: 1 year for undergrad OR 2 years for Master’s/PhD to secure a full-time job.

Step 3 — Work Permit + Residence Stamp
Get hired and move to:
• Critical Skills Employment Permit (Stamp 1/CS) → PR eligible after 2 years
• General Employment Permit (Stamp 1/General) → PR after 5 years

Step 4 — Stamp 4 (PR Equivalent)
After 2–5 years on qualifying permits (overall journey typically 3–7 years), apply for Stamp 4 → live & work without a work permit.

Pro tip: Choose courses that pipeline into Critical Skills roles (IT, engineering, healthcare, finance) to shorten your PR timeline and improve job odds.
