Cycling Canada: Coast to Coast

Cycling across Canada marked the beginning of our world cycle tour.
On 27th June 2016 we hopped on our bikes and rolled (awkwardly) out of Vancouver to start our 7000km journey across Canada to Halifax.

We encountered many challenges (bike issues, a persistent eye infection, many tornado warnings, INVINCIBLE mosquitos, rain, WIND, a few crashes and various gear breakages), but each day we were greeted with unique and amazing experiences, which made the challenges all worthwhile.

To the First Nations people that invited us to camp on your land, to the cycling enthusiast that rescued us from a hard day cycling on some dangerous roads, to the migrants that wanted to pay forward the kindness they received when they first moved to Canada, and to the hundreds (I'm sure it must be hundreds) of people that we met, and whom helped and inspired us during our trip - thank you!

Canada is a truly amazing country and we feel privileged to have spent the best part of the last 2 years exploring it. It goes without saying that Canada will always have a place in our hearts!

I was a long distance cyclist well before I became a yoga teacher and in the past I've experienced a lot of aches, pains and injuries from not effectively warming up, cooling down, strengthening muscles not used during cycling or using counter poses to stretch out overused muscles. I've learnt that yoga can help me reduce the risk of injury, speed up recovery and improve my overall performance.
