UNBELIEVABLE 😲 neglected ASTRA GTE rep rally car & mk2 FORD ESCORT!!

SOME INFO REGARDING THE GTE GIVEN BY (Kris Nicholson)

In the UK registrations back then we're updated every September 1st and only once per year. The first mk2 Astra GTE WERE in fact 8 valve single overhead cam and released in 1987 (D prefixed). D would run from Sept 1987 to Sept 1988 so there's quite a while for D plates to have the DOHC engine.

BUT I'm lead to believe that these 8 valve SOHC cars were only a minor few RARE cars at the very beginning of their run and these cars, I'm lead to believe, were called "Quicksilver" and only available in silver. Not long after the Astra mk2 Quicksilver was released Opel released the Double OverHead Cam version of the same engine and added 8 more valves.

That will probably explain why there's a red 16 valve on a D plate as it didn't change to E until 9 months into the year 1988.
