Introducing our brand-new musical composition BRINGING JOY by Join Bands, Not Gangs feat. Allou April and Shana Ray.

Join Bands, Not Gangs is a registered Non-Profit Company that uses music to bring change to neighbourhoods struggling with gangsterism. Our vision is “Giving Hope to the Hopeless through Music”.

Cape Town has around 100 000 gangsters, many as young as ten years old. According to national police statistics in December 2020, Kraaifontein had the highest murder rate in South Africa.

Join Bands, Not Gangs is helping to fight gangsterism through music by using an intervention/prevention model where children are encouraged to join music programmes instead of gangs. At the same time gangsters are encouraged to go for rehabilitation via our Sponsor A Gangster Programme.
