"Solar eclipses or lunar eclipses are just a game of light and shadow that are played by the sun, the moon, and the earth. So, during a solar eclipse, what happens is that you're going to have a kind of an alignment between the sun, the moon, and the earth, in that precise order. So, what happens is that the moon is going to be enlightened by the sun, and it's going to project a shadow in the form of a cone behind it and sometimes this shadow can draw a line on the Earth's surface."

"In a total solar eclipse, during the couple of minutes or so when the moon is completely blocking the sun, you actually have to remove the glasses because what you see around it, the so-called corona , which is kind of like the atmosphere of the sun, is actually very faint and you wouldn't be able to see it with the glasses and it's totally safe to look at . But during a partial solar eclipse, there is no stage at which looking at the eclipse is safe."
