Ecosols Bio Filter operates in a similar manner to sand filters. The system is configured as a vegetated filtration system within a collection pit and is designed to remove fine suspended solids and dissolved pollutants. The vegetation planted within the unit acts to slow incoming stormwater, allowing suspended particles to settle. The stormwater then seeps through the underlying sand, soil or gravel filter media, where physical, chemical and biological processes contribute to pollutant removal.
