PARTS OF A FACEBOW

Facebows are caliper like device used to transfer the relation of maxilla to cranium from patient onto the articulator. Types of Facebows - Arbitrary and Kinematic. Parts of Facebow - U shaped frame, orbital pointer, ear piece, nasion relator, bite frame, metallic clamp and condylar rods (in Fascia type). In some Facebows intercondylar distance can be adjusted and in some it is fixed at 110mm.
