MMC Scam Congress to File FIR Over ₹6Cr 53L Tender Fraud

The Congress Block Committee has announced plans to file an FIR against Margao Municipal Council (MMC) Chairperson Damodar Shirodkar, Chief Officer Madhu Narvekar and councillors Damodar Varak, Camilo Barretto, Mahesh Amonkar and Lata Pednekar, alleging manipulation of official meeting minutes to facilitate the misappropriation of ₹6.53 crore in public funds. Congress Block Convener Savio Coutinho claimed that two key resolutions linked to door-to-door waste collection tenders were falsely recorded as “unanimously approved” during the MMC’s special meeting held on March 30, 2026, despite the resolutions allegedly never being passed in the meeting.
