Crochet Lizard Tutorial – Crochet Applique Tutorial

In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet lizard applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (383) Ginger Gold, (179) Topaz and (404) English Tea. Crochet hooks, I used a 2.5mm hook for the main parts and a 2mm hook for the neatening rows. A darning needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors. Thread and needle to stitch the lizard together. A black bead for the eye if desired. Black paint or cotton for toenails.

The finished size will be 21cm wide x 8cm high (8.25” wide x 3” high) for the larger lizard, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the lizard in Catona will be 20cm wide x 8cm high (8” wide x 3” high). The medium lizard will be 16.5cm wide x 6cm high (6.5” wide x 2.25” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small lizard will be 12.5cm wide x 5cm high (5” wide x 2” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
