Buckingham Railway Centre - Steam Trains and Buses

Hannah is still under the spanner having open heart engine surgery and we had hoped to be back aboard this weekend but she's now pretty much having a full rebuild so instead of cruising the cut with our grandson Luke this weekend we decided to go play on some trains as Luke loves Thomas the Tank Engine. Ok, ok, I may have used it as a bit of an excuse to enable me to go smell some steam!

We have never been to Buckingham Railway Centre before so was unsure quite what to expect but the better half had seen on the internet that there was a small bus rally there this Bank Holiday and she strangely quite likes Routemaster buses so it was a no brainer. See, we both used our Grandson as an excuse!

If you have never been before we would highly recommend it as there is so much to see and do for all ages. Of course there were the steam trains themselves and the entry price included unlimited rides on the two trains running today. The track is very short but still worth the ride. They also have a great collection of trains and rolling stock that are currently being restored as well as a great museum which really does give the fell of a bygone age. The little fella loved it. To cap it all was a miniature narrow gauge railway to ride on for a minuscule extra cost of £1 each. It was simply brilliant to be honest with lots of things to see along the pretty long track as you will see in the video.

Hopefully we will be back aboard Hannah the Narrowboat very soon with a lovely less smokey Lister SR3 engine chugging along but this little outing was definitely the next best thing.
