LA Jazz Never Went Away, But Now It's On The World Stage
Kamasi Washington and the West Coast Get Down have shone and international spotlight on jazz in Los Angeles. But the scene has a rich history dating back to Central Aveneue and The World Stage in Leimert Park which have long been LA jazz institutions. And now the modern LA music scene attracts a new crop of young musicians, highlighted by the students at the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz at UCLA.
