Sculpting a grain of sand | Willard Wigan | TEDxInstitutLeRosey

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. At school Willard Wigan, a pupil who found reading and writing difficult, was told that he was a “nothing” – yet with the support of his mother and with his natural ability, he has won acclaim and many awards as the artist who has created the smallest sculptures in the world. In this talk, he describes how he overcame barriers and feelings of inferiority to explore a microscopic world.
Willard is an English artist who creates microscopic sculptures; his sculpture often placed in the eye of needles.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
