Your Holiday Peace Starts With This
Surviving the Holidays Without Losing Your Boundaries (HSP Approved)
The holidays are meant to be joyful, but for many of us, they bring stress, overstimulation, and the feeling that our boundaries are slipping away. If you've ever felt completely drained after a family gathering, you are not alone, and nothing is wrong with you!
Hi, I’m Lesa, and welcome back to Being Human. In this video, we’re talking about how to protect your peace and navigate the holiday season, especially if you're a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) who gets easily overwhelmed by loud, bright, or crowded spaces.
As an HSP myself, I understand that big family gatherings, constant noise, and flashing decorations can feel like sensory overload. That overwhelm is not a weakness; it's your body saying, "I need a pause."
We'll break down how to set simple, actionable emotional and physical boundaries so you can actually enjoy your time without becoming resentful and exhausted.
In This Video, You’ll Learn:
Why the holidays are so draining for highly sensitive people.
How to set Proactive Boundaries (planning shorter visits, saying 'no' to certain events).
Simple scripts for maintaining Emotional Boundaries (what you're willing to talk about).
Easy ways to honor your Physical Boundaries (hugs, personal space, stepping away).
Why taking a break—even from people you love—is necessary for your nervous system.
You don't have to become everything for everyone to deserve love and belonging. Protecting your boundaries is how you honor your limits and preserve your energy so you can show up as your truest self.
