COVID-19: Double-jabbed Brits allowed to travel to amber list countries with no quarantine

SUMMER holidays are back on as ministers confirm double-jabbed Brits can travel quarantine-free to over 100 countries - including Spain, France and Greece.

Kids will be able to travel with their mums and dads too, despite not having the vaccine sparking a last-minute dash for summer holiday deals.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps announced the plans to MPs this morning.

But holiday joy will only apply to the people in England - and expats jabbed abroad will still have to isolate when they come back to the UK.

He said: "I can confirm today that from the 19th of July, UK residents who are fully vaccinated, through the UK vaccine rollout will no longer have to self, isolate when they return to England."

Mr Shapps added: "In essence, this means that for fully vaccinated travelers, the requirements for green and amber countries are the same."

The good news is set to trigger a stampede in bookings as sun-thirsty Brits scramble to get away from 'Freedom Day.'

The Sun revealed this week that holidays would be opened up on Freedom day.

Before today's announcement quarantine free travel was only allowed to a handful of green list countries.
