What if Pioneer 0 succeeded? Going to the moon on KSP/RP-1

All the first pioneer lunar orbiter probes failed. Pioneer 4 was the only successful lunar probe launched by the U.S. in 12 attempts between 1958 and 1963; only in 1964 would Ranger 7 surpass its success by accomplishing all of its mission objectives. The second launch attempt with pioneer 1 marked the first launch of the recently created NASA (video thumbnail).
But what if they succeeded? Here is my alternate history version of pioneer 0 for the moon flyby contract. I used the same Thor-Ablestar style launcher I used in the last Transit video. It doesn´t use an Altair third stage and barely had enough DeltaV to accomplish the mission. My comms tech was also not good enough to transmit data from the moon, so I had to return to an Earth orbit to fulfill the contract after the flyby. I was also able to set the depleted 2nd stage into a lunar impact trajectory after the probe deployment. The probe itself is not a recreation of Pioneer 0 at all.
