CID Speaker Series presents Jaya Wen, Assistant Professor in the Business, Government and the International Economy Unit at Harvard Business School, and CID faculty affiliate.
Professor Wen shares the importance of understanding and considering the political economy when working as a development economist. In particular, she explores how thinking of the state as an optimizing agent can help us understand why some countries are rich and others are poor. She highlights and summarizes a few relevant projects, such as her research on the Chinese political economy.
