Sukiyaki - HQ Piano & Orchestra

Sukiyaki is a Japanese song first released in 1963. It is the first Asian/Japanese song to hit No 1 in the USA, and is perhaps the most well known of Japanese songs in the world.

It has spawned many covers including in English (A Taste of Honey in 1981) and in Spanish (by Selena).

Kyu Sakamoto died in the Japan Airlines' worst disaster in 1985 (where over 500 people died) but he managed to leave a note to his wife before the plane went down. Apparently the song was written by the songwriter for his (unrequited) love for a Japanese actress.

We found the simple Japanese song books in a shop in Hiroshima, and I improvise the arrangement for both piano and the orchestra. The video clips were momento of of our family vacation in Japan in Feb 2012. All the shots were taken in Kyoto and Osaka.

Enjoy - don't forget to like and comment ya :DD
