Changing the World through Reading | Stephen Angbulu | TEDxBowenUniversity
Using the power of reading and creating book clubs, Stephen describes how to change the world one book at a time. Stephen Angbulu is a Nigerian writer, speaker, and reading coach. He is the founder of Readers’ Circle Book Club and shares a deep passion to inspire, inform and—when occasion demands—entertain young people and institutions through writing and speaking. In the last 7 years of writing, Stephen has authored over 2000 online articles, essays, and short stories. Several of which have been selected for awards. In 2016, his essay on youth advocacy and leadership was the winning entry for the National Youth Essay Competition. In 2018, he emerged second runner-up in the PeaceWriteNow essay writing competition organised by the Embassy of Ireland, Nigeria.
So far, Stephen has shared his ideas with both local and international audiences through newspaper interviews, symposiums and sound bites on NTA, TVC and BBC News Africa. His book, Developing a Robust Reading Culture, has been a gamechanger for many students and young professionals alike. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
