Smurf attack #shorts

The Smurf attack is a type of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack in which large numbers of Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) packets are broadcasted to a target network using an IP broadcast address. This type of attack is located on the third layer of the OSI model, which is the network layer. ICMP is the protocol used for this type of attack, and it is responsible for sending error messages, providing information about the network, and relaying queries.
