This video shows all rulers from East Francia, the Holy Roman Empire of German Nations, the German Confederation, the German Empire to the Federal Republic of Germany today.

Some information about the colours:
- Green: Brandenburg-Prussia, Kingdom of Prussia
- Red: Austrian Habsburgs possessions
- Light yellow: Spanish Habsburgs possesions
- Orange: Dutch rebels, Union of Utrecht, Dutch Republic
The title of the ruler shows his highest one during his reign as king or emperor.

The map shows the territory controlled by the ruler at the end of his reign.
