When it comes to wildlife photography, one of the most important things you can do is GET LOW! When working in the field, wildlife subjects are rarely head height so it's key to get down on their level if you want to create images with a flattering perspective, that develops a greater connection between you and your subject. Dropping your viewpoint has the added benefit of improving your depth of field characteristics too, helping to create more pleasing backgrounds and foregrounds. Add to this the benefits in regards to reducing your outline and helping you blend in with your surroundings, what are you waiting for...get crawling!
