How should I sleep when I'm pregnant? | Quick Tips For New Parents

Around the middle of your pregnancy (20 weeks) onwards, it's recommended that you try to get into the habit of falling asleep on your side rather than your back. Research has shown that if you're 28 weeks or more and you fall sleep on your back, you can double the risk of having a still brith.

If you fall sleep on your side and wake up on your back, don't worry just simple roll back over to your side and fall asleep again.

This is recommended for day time naps too, using a pillow behind your back, and between your legs can help encourage side sleeping.

A lot of doctors suggest that sleeping on your left side is preferable to the right. This is simply because they suggest that it increases the blood flow to your baby and placenta.
