Fedora 44 Workstation: What’s New and How to Set It Up

Fedora 44 Workstation is here, and in this video we take a first look at the new Fedora GNOME desktop experience, what has changed, and how to set it up for regular everyday use.

Fedora 44 Workstation comes with the latest GNOME desktop experience, newer Linux technologies, updated system components, and many improvements that make the desktop feel clean, modern, and polished. In this video, I show the Fedora 44 Workstation desktop, talk about the differences from previous versions, and go through the basic setup steps I recommend after installation.

We also look at why Fedora may need a little setup after install. Fedora focuses strongly on free and open-source software, so many users may want to enable RPM Fusion, install media codecs, add Flatpak apps from Flathub, choose their preferred browser, and set up graphics drivers if needed.

If you are thinking about trying Fedora 44 Workstation, upgrading from Fedora 43, or looking for a clean GNOME-based Linux desktop for daily use, this video should help you decide if Fedora 44 Workstation is ready for your main computer.
