so comet SWAN 25F has an official name now: comet C/2025 F2 SWAN.
The comet will be on its perihelion on 01 May and might reach magnitude +4. Currently, its magnitude is around +10.
SWAN, an instrument aboard the European Space Agency’s SOHO spacecraft that studies the sun, first detected the comet, giving the comet its name of SWAN25F. Its current brightness is about 8, and it may reach 5 magnitude. Currently, the path of Comet SWAN 25 F is not tracked; once tracked, it will be given a proper name.

Look for the comet in Pegasus
During the first days of April, the comet has been inside the Great Square of Pegasus the Flying Horse and it’s moving toward Andromeda the Chained Lady. Its a green comet, and can be observed through a telescope in the North East Sky in the early morning.

This is the second comment of the year 2025. The first comet was Comet C2024 G3 Atlas which reached its peak brightness in January 2025 which is nearly of -3 Magnitude.
