Jon Lord & The Hoochie Coochie Men perform Green Onions

Check out this little snippet of legendary Deep Purple keyboardist Jon Lord performing at Palmer Coolum Resort (formerly Hyatt Regency Coolum) in February 2003. Coolum Beach is a beachside town on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia.

Says Lord: "Basically I ended up playing at a barbecue and I haven't done that since I was 16! The first time we played in Australia as Deep Purple was at a swimming pool in Perth. An Olympic sized swimming pool where the audience was on the other side of the pool. And here I am 30 odd years later playing where? At a swimming pool."

The Hoochie Coochie Men feature Bob Daisley, Tim Gaze and Rob Grosser.
It was a brilliant evening and the band were also joined onstage by Jimmy Barnes.
