Enjoy the beauty of the Sunflowers (Helianthus Annuus). The French word for sunflower is tournesol, which translates literally to "turned sun," referring to the plant's ability to turn itself to face the sun (heliotropism). For the photographer in you, the spiral formation of seeds in a sunflower almost always follows the Fibonacci sequence. The beauty of the sunflowers was great inspiration for Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh, who painted two series of paintings dedicated to sunflowers. Sunflowers are the symbol for longevity, loyalty, optimism, an good luck. The oil of sunflower is rich in minerals like calcium and iron and contains vitamin A and Vitamin D.Sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine, and is the state flower of Kansas.
