Almost 70% of hearing parents don’t learn ASL for their Deaf children

As someone who works in the school system.
You have no idea how frequently I witness Deaf children experiencing a profound hunger for their primary language in the classrooms. Almost 70% of Hearing parents, don’t learn sign language for their Deaf children and that has truly significant implications for Deaf children & their futures. Language deprivation is a huge issue of our community.
