SPRING 2022 US GRAIN WEATHER FORECAST from WXRISK

Given the current dryness end route which is developed this winter across the Plains and the WCB, along with the current geopolitical situation in Ukraine and Russia and the large wheat crop failure in China that was recently announced, SPRING 2022 grain weather forecast for the USA has become extremely critical and important. There are strong indications from several factors that the dryness in the Plains and the WCB from the winter will continue into the spring to some degree but will significantly worsen as we move into the summer season. The key factor here is the current moderate La Nina which continues to NOT weaken nearly as fast as previous models had indicated. What is particularly ominous is that the CFS keeps the current La Nina in place right through August and September and other climate models are shifting in that direction. A moderate La Nina through the summer months, given the lack of subsurface moisture and current dryness in the Plains and WCB, would be extremely bad for crop yield in the plains in the Midwest for the Guang season of 2022
