The Fallowfield Loop (Lost Railways of Manchester)

Filmed in July 2019.

In the first of a brand new series, I explore the abandoned Fallowfield Loop, which ran across South Manchester from Old Trafford to Gorton & Fairfield. It closed to passengers in 1958, then to freight in 1988. Part of the line now carries Metrolink trams, and the remainder has become a cycle trail.

Inspired by the "London's Lost Railways" series by Geoff Marshall/Londonist. At the time of filming, all had been mysteriously taken down. Some of them have now been reuploaded, you can watch the Parkland walk episode here!
