Cuomo and the Great COVID Cover-up: NY nursing home deaths hidden during pandemic

Celebrated New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is now “ducking the media” after it was revealed his administration “deliberately" hid nursing home fatalities, many of which have been traced back to an ill-fated order, says Sky News host James Morrow.

After neighboring state New Jersey, New York is the “most deadly” location in the United States when it comes to the coronavirus deaths.

Mr Morrow said the New York Governor was praised by the media in 2020 for “starting fights with Trump and smashing the state's economy with insane lockdowns and restrictions” while writing a best-selling book touting his own leadership through the crisis.

He said it would “be funny” if it were not for the 46,000 people who died under his watch and the 13,000 deaths which have been traced to Mr Cumo’s nursing home order, demanding COVID-19 positive patients be received back into the facilities.

Moreover, this week the New York Post revealed Mr Cuomo’s administration “deliberately covered up and hid data about nursing home deaths from the federal government” because they were concerned the figures would be used against them by the Department of Justice.

“Governor Andrew Cuomo's top aide privately apologized to Democratic lawmakers for withholding the state's nursing home death toll from COVID-19 telling them ‘we froze’ out of fear that the true numbers would ‘be used against us’ by federal prosecutors".

“Cuomo, once a darling of the press, is now ducking the media which, no one should forget, did their level best to cover for Cuomo as the pandemic raged and the death toll soared."
