INDIANA -UPPER ROOM SESSIONS

A song about emigration written by Andy Mitchell and sung by Catherine Bolger with Faughnan family musicians, in an old derelict Faughnan ancestral home in Cloonclivia, Mohill, County Leitrim. Patrick Faughnan was the last resident of this home where he grew up with his sisters Mary Ellen,Bee,Katie and brothers James,Tom, Peter. His three brothers and one sister emigrated to America and never returned apart from one holiday. The song is about two friends who also emigrated but did return because '"The cord has never severed, and the longing each day has grown". The picture at the end of the video is my grandfather Patrick Faughnan's family. His brothers had gone and not returned.
