1975-1980 Pontiac Sunbird / Chevrolet Monza Coupe FMVSS 301 Rear Crash Test (Full Overlap - 56 Km/h)

Using the previous generation of FMVSS 301 Standards, the FMVSS 301R is a Full-Overlap rear crash test at 35 Mph (56 Km/h) with 50th Percentile Male dummies. This crash test was performed at Calspan Corporation in Buffalo, New York on 09/08/1979.
Because the test speed is in excess of the FMVSS 301 regulation, this test can only be viewed as in "indicant".
Both occupants are 50th percentile Male Part 572 ATDs. Dummies have instrumentation for FMVSS 208 injury analysis.

FMVSS Results:
FMVSS 208 - Occupant Crash Protection: Pass.
FMVSS 212 - Windshield Retention (Mounting): Not Applicable for Rear Impacts.
FMVSS 219 - Windshield Zone Intrusion: Not Applicable for Rear Impacts.
FMVSS 301-79 Fuel System Integrity: Pass. No fuel leakage was observed, however, multiple drivetrain components came in contact with the fuel tank. A fuel tank strap also broke.
