Play-back - Luís Duarte (cover version) Eurovision Portugal 1981

Luís - sometimes spelled Luíz - Duarte (1949-2021) was a Portuguese multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and producer. As an arranger and conductor, he represented his country on two occasions in the Eurovision Song Contest, in 1982 with Doce and 'Bem bom' and seven years later with Da Vinci and 'Conquistador'.
Duarte also made his mark as a singer and in 1981 he recorded this quirky cover version of Portugal's Eurovision entry 'Play-back'. The arrangement, naturally done by Luís himself, is very different from the original which was orchestrated by Shegundo Galarza and interpreted by Carlos Paião.
This recording is copied from a vinyl single from 1981 - we know that the sound quality isn't perfect, but we hope you enjoy the music nonetheless.
