Friends Are Encouraging My Wife To Leave Me

Our live caller explains that mutual, close friends have encouraged his wife to leave, and he wants to know, "Should I confront them?"

He confesses that he spied on his wife and discovered texts between his wife and their friend. This friend was encouraging his wife to "leave the relationship, seek attention from other guys," and was even "introducing her to other men."

Because of this, he wants to know if confronting these friends is a good idea.

Dr. Joe Beam first asks, "What do you expect to accomplish if you confront them?" Dr. Joe Beam explains the need for caution- the confrontation could convince these friends that they're right. Or, the confrontation could cause them to go to this caller's wife and bad mouth him. Therefore, the outcome may be worse if confrontation happens.

Again, the two questions this caller needs to consider are:
- What are you trying to accomplish?
- Do you think doing so will actually result in what you're trying to achieve?
