ImPRESSive Putty MIX is a super low cost, easy to use mold making putty.
So let’s go through how to make a mold using the ImPRESSive Putty mix, and while showing you, we’ll tell you why the ImPRESSive Putty Mix is such a nice product for your duplicating needs.

So the ImPRESSive Putty mix comes as a un-heated dough. The ImPRESSive Putty Mix is the SAME material as the ImPRESSive Putty, except you need to heat and knead it the first time you use it.
This makes the manufacturing much lower cost,
and we pass that savings on to you so the Putty Mix is lower cost than the ImPRESSive Putty or almost any mold making material out there
-and even lower cost if you reuse more than once.
So heat the Putty Mix in the microwave or any other heat source
until it is above about 200 F.
In the microwave, 3 oz takes about 30 seconds.
1 pound takes about 3 minutes.
Do not touch the putty as it will be very hot.
Use a spoon to knead the putty.
Do this one more time in the microwave and
knead one more time until it is a smooth texture.
Let this cool until you can handle it easily with your hands.
Now the ImPRESSive Putty Mix is exactly like the ImPRESSive Putty.
Both are reusable, molding putties.
Whenever you need a new mold, reheat the putty in the
microwave or any heat and reform to your new mold.

So to make your mold with the ImPRESSive Putty,
Heat it to make it into putty, and press it over
and around your part.
It’s best to smooth out the putty first to remove any creases.
You don’t need a mold release because the Activator
that allows you to reuse the putty also acts as a release agent.
This activator can also leak out, so be sure not to
leave in your furniture or rug.
If you do leak out, use hot soapy water to clean.
When in putty form, the putty will stick to your part…
Don’t worry, when it hardens into a pliable rubber
it will not stick to most surfaces.
If you want, place your part in the freezer to cool faster.
After cooling to solidify, pull out your original
and you’re ready to make your duplicate.

Pour in 2 part resins such as urethane or epoxy.
Some clear resins do react a little with the
activator and create a whitish color on the surface.
This does not have an effect on properties other than the looks.
Adding colorants will make this a non-issue.
You can wash the Putty
with a denatured alcohol to clean off the activator,
but this will reduce the ability to remelt and reuse. If you do this, we do have more activator available if necessary.
Soap, waxes, low melt metal all can be used for the casting material along with many other options.
We even have a food safe version for chocolate molds.
To make a two part mold with the ImPRESSive Putty,
simply do one half of the mold, let that cool or even better,
chill that half in the freezer, and then press the second half of the mold.
Use a rubber band to hold the two ends sides together.
The Putty also works well with our ComposiMold, a heat and pour molding material.

Remelt the Putty to make a new mold.

need to b re-kneaded. Just heat so it melts into a putty again.
