Historic Mississippi River Deltas--Phenomenon Explained

The current Mississippi River Delta is just the latest in a long line of deltas formed by the river. Over time this has created all of southeastern Louisiana's coastline, home to nearly half of the state's population. Amazingly this was all created in a brief snapshot of geologic time.
