We've had to punt and change to a Raspberry PI 4! Let's get faster for Speech Recognition!
PocketSphinx has proven too slow for our realtime Speech to Text project. We need to find a faster solution to get our speech translated into something we can display on our Neopixel matrix of LEDs. Looks like we are going to have to switch from the Raspberry Pi Zero to a Raspberry Pi 4! That will let us try Mozilla Deepspeech.

If we can get that working to display text as we speak, we can move on to getting that text displayed on our Neopixels. It turns out writing text to a Neopixel isn't quite a simple as we figured it would be. Luckily, another maker has already done all the heavy lifting for us. Caroline Dunn has written a very helpful article for Tom's Hardware describing her Scrolling-Text Face Mask with Raspberry Pi. Even more helpfully, she has included her python code.

With a few edits, we should be able to get text from Mozilla Deepspeech out to our LED matrix.
