Tecsun PL-450 AM FM LW Shortwave Radio Review

The Tecsun PL-450 AM FM Stereo LW Shortwave portable radio is a fantastic tuner that can still be found new and used on the web. The best feature is it's no mute on tuning. This alone makes the radio enjoyable to use. MW DXing is possible with this very sensitive radio. External Antennas can be used along with it's DX switch to pull in those faint Shortwave and FM stations as well. A true bargain.

Smart Alarm Feature that can have a Dedicated Frequency.
Auto Tuning System for MW/FM.
System Codes to Change the Settings and how Pages/Presets are setup.
External Wire included.
Snooze Feature. Three Ten Minute Sequences.

Overall, The PL-450 does a fantastic job on the bands with its no mute while tuning. This is very valuable when hunting fading and distant stations. If you can find this radio in great shape or new for under $40, snap one up. It is like having a PL-660 minus a few features, but much more portable.
